Rear Dial not Working

Just wondering if any one has experience with getting the e dials working. Just went to change the aperture on my K20 and the rear dial doesn't do anything (doesn't in any mode). Seems to spin easily, just doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Is anything else, (like another dial or especially one on a grip) presently between-clicks? Sometimes that'll do that.

Do you have a grip attached?
If so, move the grip's rear e-dial and see if that fixes the problem.
If no grip, then it may be that the contacts have loosened in the dial - you may need to get that checked out.

You both are exactly right. I moved the rear wheel on the grip and suddenly, hey presto, my problem was solved. Thanks a million!

Had exactly this experience today myself for the first time - a long photo shott depleted the battery in the camera and I switced to the grip and then the rear dial refused to zoom in on images in the rear screen. Possibly other functions failed too but that is what I noticed. Turned off the grip and turned it on again and all came good again - useful trick to remember.

My first thought though was "system failures starting - now I can justify moving to the K7" so mixed feelings about getting it to work again.
