Pentax K-x Fashion Show?

Hi all.

As I was pondering over the many mysteries of Pentax's and my impending K-x ownership, I found this cool Japanese link with people holding K-x's of a variety of colours.

????????????PENTAX K-x ????????

I think the fact the K-x comes in colours makes it a heck of a unique DSLR.

Just an idea...What say we have a fashion show for K-x owners.

Post up pictures of your K-x showing how its "fashionable". It could be you dressed up with the camera, or the K-x colour matching the background, or well, anything that's interesting.

All this color stuff is ridiculous. Pentax needs to come up with one other color scheme only--good old American camo (I prefer Realtree, but I can be flexible on this point) Until then, basic black works with anything.

The different colours are basically for the Japanese markets as the ladies love colourfully things...

I don't see what possible harm it can be to have different colours. It's not like they had to remove features to include the purple or anything!

Many serious photographers in markets other than Japan have also been into them. Plus, it's a good way to encourage kids to pick up a real camera.

In the bright world of the future, nanobots will paint tiny active display pixels onto any desired surface. Software will then control just what is displayed. The camera body could be any ever-changing swirl of colors, images, texts, diagrams, etc.

Make your camera YOU. Make your camera disappear, chameleon-like. Make your Pentax turn into a Leica or Holga or Zenit or Brownie. Wirelessly feed spycam vids onto the surface so you can track events elsewhere. STROBE to induce seizures.

This thang of single-color cameras is merely transitional. Same with fixed patterns on clothing. Soon all your attire will be video screenage. You think I'm fantasizing? Serious development work in ongoing. Expect products soon, before a K-EVIL-D.
The future ain't what it used to be.

I love the different types of colors for it, some of them work really well.

Unfortunately some of them don't work very well. They really don't work at all.

Having colours as an option is still better than other camera brands. The conservatives can still choose black if they like. I think it's a good idea.

Yeah, but have you seen some of the combinations?

I'm not kidding, some of them should be illegal for people to get. Like really, pink on blue? That's not OK.

It's customisable isn't it? Let people buy what they want to I say. But I suspect most buyers wouldn't be that radical anyway. :-D

Personally I wouldn't mind choices like:

Burnt Orange: Orange (colour) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Or

Mauve Taupe: Mauve - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Big fan of the Mauve actually. One colour though, not a big fan of mixes.

White has the practical advantage of relecting more light, reducing body heat. Those with silver lenses might also wish to colour-coordinate. There are several reasons one might want a colour other than black.

Though not me!
