I have some 20+ year old Pentax lenses (from a Pentax film SLR) that work fine with my K-7. I fully expect that in a year or so, no more K-7 in favor of something newer. I'll keep shooting and not feel abandoned at all. I have spent some decent money on new Pnetax lenses, and I have some confidence they will still fit whatever new Pentax is for sale years from now.

K200D has:
- slow AF in dark
- very much noise @ high ISO or ISO 100 & 15 sec in dark
- not very accurate flash system

I am considering to move to Nikon.
Glad you joined the Pentax forum just to tell us this. Do you have any particular questions or should we just wish you good luck with your new camera? Nikon makes fine cameras. I'm sure they'll have one that will meet your needs.

Took 200D to the snow recently, light rain sometimes. There was no worry at all about the weather. Just realized that who didn't buy 200d are now abandoned from the oportunity of having a WR DLSR at such a low price point that 200d demanded. It indeed has a very nice body!

Another thumbs up for the K200D... and no I'm not feeling abandoned...if that is a concern for you, then do not buy any modern technology.

Cheers.

Not true - it's actually right about average for APS-C cameras. There are cameras from pentax that do better, and other cameras from pentax that do worse. There are cameras from Nikon that do better, and cameras from Nikon that do worse.

I might be a newb regarding Pentax dslrs. The K200d was my first entry and meets my current needs. Sure there are things that have been improved by subsequent models (namely higher ISO, in my book).

But it handles so well that they'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

Thanks! I just updated both my K200D and K20D with no problems. Not that according to the Pentax website there would be that many significant changes.

I've used the 8 GB and it worked fine. I don't see any reason why it can't handle 16 GB. I normally used 4 GB.

I feel as if Pentax abandoned all of us K200D adopters. No firmware updates and a teeny product lifetime. You haven't been able to buy the K200D new for months now. I feel like I bought a product expecting support and updates and instead Pentax just dumped us.

I am currently selling, what I feel is my outdated K200D in favor of another system from another manufacturer who may give us the support we deserve.

Anyone else feel this way about their K200D?

Should be up to 32GB per compliance with specification for SDHC. I have used 8GB routinely. Secure Digital - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
