Am I missing something? The link you provided says the Sigma is $440 by itself. So are you getting the body for $250? If so then jump all over that. That Sigma lens is a very good lens.
this is the bundled kit in question Pentax K-x Digital SLR Camera - Black + Sigma 18-200mm Lens - Digital Camera Warehouse Australia Pentax K-x Digital SLR Camera - Black + Pentax 18-55mm & 50-200mm Lenses Pentax K-x Digital SLR Camer and as you can see, it does not say anywhere which version of the sigma is being offered. this is why it was suggested to verify which version. the other link provided, isnt specifically the version being sold with the K-x. but judging based on the price, it is likely the older version, for which it was suggested to get the standard kit with the 18-55. its not likely that they would sell the current version so cheap even in a bundle, and they are likely just using this bundled kit as a way to dump stock of the old version. similar to the deal recently with J&R electronics giving a free 18-55mm II with a k-7 body purchase and not a WR version.

Hi, Im in Oz as well and have been looking at starting modestly with a K-x and either of these lenses.
I really can't imagine they would be selling the 18-125 with OS, particularly as a Pentax kit.

TOUGEFC, did your dad finally make a choice?....and if so, are you happy with want he got?

Nah mate, he keeps putting it off for some reason? He says he still wants to get one, i ask him every other day when does he want to go get it, and he just replies soon. I will post up once he gets it and what the lens is.

I bought one of those deals a few months ago. I did not even want the 18-55, but it was a good deal just to get the 55-300. Usually, those are the DAL models with plastic mounts, but the optics are the same.

I would also like to see a prime-lovers package that came with the DA40. Because it is compact, sharp and relatively fast, it stays on my K-x more than any other lens.

So you never know...
Seriously?!?

Please let me know if ever you see some crazy deal in France. My parents live there much of the year and it'd be quite easy to persuade them to give a DSLR a try. Especially with a versatile lens like the 18-200. My mum is getting annoyed that her pns doesn't do nice sky gradiations.

Merci!

He said the optics was the same but the mount in plastic instead of metal.

I have used both... they are both fine... I prefer the plastic, because it weighs less, but to each their own..
