So far, it has worked flawlessly. It fits my camera perfectly and all the controls work as they should. Someone on a forum somewhere recently complained that his Travor grip had a sticky or slow shutter release. I have not noticed that.
I don't know if the genuine Pentax grip is weather sealed or not, but it does not appear that the Travor is. However, it fits against the camera pretty snugly, so I don't imagine that a little rain would cause a problem. Obviously, you can't submerge it, but then you can't do that to the camera, either.
The build quality seems to be good. The plastic is as thick and as strong as I would expect it to be.
The only caveat I would have about buying one of these third-party grips is to make sure that you get one with all the controls. Mine has two thumbwheels, a shutter release, and all the other controls that the genuine Pentax grip has. There are some out there that have only the shutter release.
