It's here [K10D]

After just a 3-day wait, my K10D has arrived!

I originally pre-ordered from Adorama in October, but they said that they won't be able to ship for another 2 weeks. Because I couldn't resist, I then ordered from Beach Camera, and I got my K10D the next business day (today.)

Upon calling Adorama to cancel the order, it turned out that they actually did have the K10D's in stock! They said they didn't when I called them the day before to ask, so it looks like they're being a bit tricky with the shipping and giving priority to in-store purchases.*

Pics of my opening the camera are attached. Enjoy!

I'll post sample shots as well as ISO and SR tests later.

Mine came tonight, as well. I preordered from Amazon on October 23 - so delivery turns out to be right when projected originally, despite a bunch of bizarre emails about delivery after Christmas.

First impression: "Whoa, this is a big sucker!"

Second impression: "Looks classy and feels good despite the size."

Anyway, I'm (impatiently) waiting for the battery to charge. Just loaded the software. Instructions say version 3.10 will overwrite the old one (from my DS2), but such was not the case. I had to remove version 2.1 before the new one would load.

Wow. The red light just went off - so time to play!

Overall impression- great camera!

Although it's a bit bigger than the *ist series, it feels a lot more professional. Continuous shooting lives up to Pentax's promise, and the SR is just stunning.

All the weather seals make the SD slot and battery compartment harder to open, but better safe than sorry!

Here's an SR test at 1/6s: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-dslr-discussion/998-k10d-sr-test-l...le-images.html
I also took some moon shots; this one turned out great at 800mm (1/8s, F26): https://www.pentaxforums.com/gallery/images/1/1_IMGP0024.jpg
