Focus screen transplant

Can you grab the 45' split focus screen off of an old Pentax film camera and put it on a K10d?

Not without cutting it down to the size of the k10d screen size. There are posts on this site of people doing this. Check youtube also.

Hrm, will search for them. Is the quality any better than using a 3rd party one when doing this?

If I'm not mistaken, and this may be old information, the Jinfinance (ebay) screens are, or use to be, Pentax screens cut down. There's another company (the link escapes me at the moment) somewhere in Asia that resizes Nikon (IIRC) screens. Their price is more than the Jinfinance screens but still less than the Katzeye screens.

You're thinking of Focusing Screen. I have them in my K10D, K20D and K-7. ~$70 each and they work well.

Yep That's the one. Thank you.. I'll have to look into one for my K7. I have a Katzeye for my 10/20 but can't see spending the money for one on the K7.
