I don't think those are flash images. There are shadows where the surfers body or board are shielded from the sun and despite being in direct line withe camera are not illuminated.

And the subject is going to be too far away from the flash for it to have any effect anyway.

I just realised the ones that I really liked were taken on a still day no wind so the waves had clear sharp lips the ones ion his site currently I can get as good so thats a good thing I'm not chasing surf photo's I like landscapes and night. and I sorted my flash problem p-ttl going to wind the clock back 40-50 years to a better time.

Yes I know they are not flash images.

I have solved my P-ttl and TTL issue will let you know how in a week.
