Come on Marc, I expect more from you. Sure you can not compare the quantitative numbers between systems, but you can compare across a given lens.

Whatever. As I said, i have no experience with the DA*16-50 and no particular interested in defending it - although I'd note that many people who own the lens disagree with your assessment, considering it one of the finest zooms available. But once more, my sole point was to correct the misinformation regarding the price.

It is quite hard to judge the 16-50 as there is so much variation in the copies that are out there. If you are willing to find a good copy (and possibly go through three or four copies in process), it is very good and does quite a bit better than the Photozone review. My first copy was quite sharp edge to edge. As I have mentioned elsewhere, when shooting with the lens correction feature on the K7, the lens performs even better. Obviously that doesn't fix SDM issues, but anyway, some of the 16-50's out there are quite sharp.
