II am using this site quite a lot to follow the pricing in Canada from Canadian and US vendor

I have requested that they add the pricing for the K_X kit with the 18-55 & 55-300 lens. Gordon have done it and you can see that our Canadian vendor are completly bon competitive vs US vendor

I have also requested toadd Tamron lenses 10-24 and ut's there also.
This site explain duty , freight , taxes to buy from the US and also explain the difference in waranty

If you are an American you can use it to find some of teh nbest price from the big retailer

check out the price trend for a Pentax K7 between USA and Canada. That is a HUGE difference. ~$250 difference!

Blacks actually has the K-X with the 18-55 for 629 and you can get 100 off if you trade in an old digital camera!

Black do not sell the kit and because Black have store in Quebec under the name of Astral , we pay PST also

blacks and futureshop both carry the K-X, It is on sale at futureshop this week for $629. i was in blacks last week and they had it too.

prodigital2000 on ebay at 630$ tx incl (qc) is the best price for 18-55 kit

prodigital2000 yes they have a great price on the single lens but are more expensive on the 2 lenses kit but sorry they only give 1 year guarantee as per their web site

they are an authorized canadian retailer so 2 year warranty
they probably put 1year for international customer (probably the majority of their business)

they really have great customer service and lightning fast shipping
5% tax to Qc

dont compare to us price... youll probably end up paying around 120$ of taxes if you order from states and be stuck with 1 year international warranty (50$ each time you send camera)

believe me if i could do it again i wouldnt have order from usa...

came up around 560$ + 70$ taxes for 18-55mm kit
got the DAL 55-300 for 215$ on ebay

saw some da 55-300 for 300$

also there is a kit with DA for 929$ + tx

I ordered from Neweggs Canada and their price is lowest , I paid only the Quebec Tax and $13 of shipping ., way cheaper than photo digital.
Pentax International warranty are valid in Canada

Also the price you see on that site is all inclusive

If I am spending 700+$ Id prefer to get it locally so if there are any problems I can get them fixed easier

I have no idea what Pentax are doing with their strange kits in Australia...

Not long ago we could get the KX with the Pentax 18-55 and Pentax 50-200 - which from what I've read here, is quite adequate to get started with on a first DSLR. That was AUD$849.00 - USD$780.00... So that's what I was saving for - which takes time, on Disability.

The only 2-lens kit for the KX here now is the Pentax 18-55 - and the Sigma 70-300, not the better DG APO, and you can't pay the $100.00 or so extra for the APO... That KX - 18-55 and low-end 70-300 "kit" costs AUD$835.00 (USD$786.00) - perhaps just to rub-in that the cheap Sigma 70-300 is "$14.00 worse than the Pentax 50-200....."

We don't get the kit with the L 55-300 here - that's North America only.

The KX with Pentax 18-55 only is $725.00 - USD$670.00. So you can buy that and pay $300.00 (USD$276.00) for the Sigma 70-300 DG APO - or splash-out and get the Pentax 55-300 DA ED - very nice, but $670.00 (USD$620.00.)

Gets a lot flamin' sillier...! The KM / K2000 is still selling here (maybe the Importer ordered too many - then couldn't flog them off at the absurd prices...) And, dafter still - you can indeed "still get" the Pentax 18-55 and Pentax 50-200 kit - only with the KM - for a mere $975.00 - USD$900.00...!

I'm certainly still saving - but think I'll bypass the KX as it sells here at present. And we do only get 12-months Warranty with Cameras here... There's a Govt Law that forces them to give a minimum 12-months on Electronics, etc...

Extending Warranty isn't cheap, here. My Canon SX10 - AUD$604.00 - USD$480.00 when I bought it, so 50% more than the USD$320.00 it then was in the US, would have cost $55.00 to extend to 2-Year Warranty, and about $80.00 for a third Year. The SX10 had increased over $60.00 in price (because it was popular) - while I was saving for it, and I just didn't have the extra $55.00 - $80.00 at the time.

So my "$604.00" SX10 is stuck with 12-Months Warranty.

So I'm too flamin' scared to ask what a KX Warranty Extension to 2 or 3 Years would cost....
I'm so bloody-well peeved over this, that this year's camera-buy won't be a DSLR (yes, in that Dept, it's still a Pentax-something or nothing...) - it'll probably be some happy-toy like the new Fuji HS10... Yes, it has "issues", but it's almost the USDs-US-price, here. (AUD$559.00) But it does (7 frames) full 10Mpix at 10fps, and RAW, and apparently the 30x Zoom is okay on a tripod in Aperture Priority or Manual...

So - a "fiddle-with" dumb toy... Until we see what Pentax - and its single "official importer" - can do here in the next year or so.....

Anyway - Rave over - and I'll crawl off and sulk about not getting a lovely Pentax this year.....

I noticed the Pentaxes offered from prodigital2000 has the 1 year international warranty whereas the ones from easyship123, their sister account, has the 2 year Canadian warranty (notice the addition of the maple leaf in the image of easyship123's listings).

Purchased a white K-x from easyship123 last week and am glad that shipping is free and I only had to pay GST -- the price ended up much cheaper than buying locally and only slightly more expensive than buying from the states.
