How do I remove crap from the view finder?

I've got a white K-x, and I cleaned the sensor today because there are a couple small hairs right in the center of your view, however that's when I realized that none of them were coming up in pics!

So my viewfinder, somewhere along the way has picked up some dirt and small hairs, I tried blowing it out, tried cleaning it with a vellum like cloth, I've tried everything I can think of and nothing moves.

Any ideas how to clean the view finder? The mirror and CMOS are pristine, its just up above and I think it might be on the inside of the piece of glass that has the brackets on them. Super pain in the ass.

I took the camera apart and figured out how to disassemble the viewfinder piece of glass (its actually plastic).

Super easy, just have to take the lens off, then at the top of camera, opposite the mirror, is a small metal retainer that you can unhook and take the bracketing plastic viewfinder piece out, clean, etc. then just reassemble.

Hope it helps anyone else out with dirty viewfinders!

See the many other threads on this for advice on how to do, and also advice on why not to. Bottom lne: it is possible, but there is the strong likelihood of just making it worse, the very real risk of ruining the focus screen, and the practically absolutely certainly that even if you success today, there will be more sooner or later. Learn to live with it is the standard answer.
