Cross processing comes from the film era. Some photographers would take color film and process it with chemistry that was not meant for it, ie -- process Kodak film with Agfa or Fuji chemistry. The results were always unpredictable, but usually interesting. For something like this, digital is perfect, try it, and if you don't like the results, then you don't have to use it. In film, once it was done, you couldn't reverse it.
I'd try a bunch of different scenes, still life, landscapes, buildings, people, etc. What works for one might not work for others.
