Have had a DSLR for 2 years now and bought a decent tripod at the same time.
Have used it once for a macro shot and never bothered since.

Too much faffing about for me.

Not sure what "faffing" is, but same here. Except, the last week I have used it for the new-to-me 800m. And a couple weeks ago for long exposure fisheye shots at the observatory. Well, 4th of July fireworks, too.

Other than those types of uses, zip. Same thing with the AF540 flash...

I do use a monopod from time to time.

50-50. Definitly better with the tripod but not all subjects or situations allow the luxury of using one, so I try to practice hand held as much as possible. This one was hand held.

Hand held. Mostly because I hate carrying a tripod around. Not too jazzed about carrying a Monopod either. Have very expensive copies of both, and they just sit there looking pretty.

I always use a tripod unless I am using a flash or just taking snapshots of the family. If it something I am selling, I use a tripod. Always. Even with stabilization built in the camera.

Mostly handheld, even for macros, a bit too lazy to mess around with the tripod I guess. Got a monopod too, I have started to use that one for the tele, and the pics improved by it.

Lately I've been using a "human tripod" called a Sport Seat for most of my photography. It's a lightweight (28 ounces) aluminum-and-plastic combination cane and seat that folds up. Very easy to carry in the field. When you are sitting on it, you are dampening body shake and this makes it very easy to suppress camera shake from your hands. This also enables you to train the camera on your subject very quickly, even to pan through a 180 degree arc.

It's also great for sitting quietly in the woods waiting for something photographable to walk or fly by.

It can even be used as an impromptu cocktail table after a photo session.

Don't even own a tripod here. Generally shoot handheld or or use whatever flat surface is at hand.

90 % hand-held and 10% tripod.

I try very hard to use a tripod as much as possible, every chance I get. If not possible I try very hard to use a monopod. Either case, I use a remote control. I saw a guy yesterday shooting on tripod without a remote. Weird.
