Protective Lens Sleeves: very cheap
Posted By: Leonardo da Vinci, 10-25-2012, 10:14 AM

1.- Buy netbook or tablet 7" to 10" neoprene sleeves (in amazon.com cost more or less $ 0.01-0.05 each)

2.- Put the lens inside and surround it with the sleeve

3.- Voila!!!: Cheap, usefull, efficient and quick

riiiiiight, $0.01... plus $5 shipping, they're needlessly bulky and your lenses can fall out of them if you pick them up by the wrong end. i'll stick with my dollarama neoprene pencil cases.

Both of these look pretty cool. I shoot large format lens wraps are incredibly expensive. Something like these might fit the ticket.

maltfalc, your solution as Steve says, is very cool. At the first time, I thought something similar but I was afraid about the zipper-lens interfase.

In my country, bring something from outside is very expensive. Amazon was mentioned only as an example

Who dontīt know Amazon?

I bought it in a Chinese store 10 blocks apart from my home in Santiago and it cost 3 U$ each ( regular neoprene sleeve in a local camera store cost 10 bucks)

Best regards

L

mine were $1 canadian each. the zippers are plastic and haven't scratched a lens yet. the zipper pulls are painted metal, but i store my lenses with the caps on and i could just glue a bit of protective fabric on the back if i needed to.

Pick up an old SCUBA wet suit and cannibalize it for the neoprene material. If the sleeves or legs aren't quite the correct size, they're easily tailored to fit.
