@jgredline: Yes, the film is advertised as 400 ISO but I set the film speed dial to 320 so that I would be consistently over exposing it. The film's specifications claim that you can expose it anywhere in the 50 to 800 range and get acceptable results. Ilford actually recommends using 200 ISO if you want finer grain and negatives that are still easily printable. I wouldn't be too surprised if a minilab had trouble printing from the film if I shot it at 50 ISO but if you are making your own prints with a traditional enlarger and black and white paper that should be less of a problem.

I know there are people on here who don't like XP2 but so far I'm reasonably happy with the results with the caveat that I tend to have to post process to remove some marks from the negatives because of the way the labs I've sent it to have processed the film.

The foreground around the benches in the first photo I posted shows how underexposed areas can get pretty grainy.

I have found that no matter what film I use, I get better results by over exposing it slightly. I will need to expiriment with the asa settings as well. I use allot of 99cents asa 200 store film and find that when I underexpose it, it gets really ugly. I have been pondering about setting the asa dial to 100 and see what happens. worth a try.

Sometimes XP2 has a real inky grain. It's not subtle, but it can be really beautiful. Here's a family portrait; the irony will not be lost on some

BTW elkarrde, love your shot. The headlights in the distance really make it.

Well here is my contribution. They are all shot using my superprogram and smc-a 50mm lens.

This one is shot using TMX 100.

These next two are shot using Adox CMS 20 film. I really like the stuff.

The scanner I was using made that last one just a little contrasty, to me that is.
