The count is in, the judge has ruled. So I hand over to my daughter Nicole (complete with "expert" commentary learnt from her design class at school).

The runners up are...

barondla's image with the stop sign...
(Attached- don't know how to place this in order)
I found this image really captivating, the strong colours grab your attention and the STOP sign is well placed. I did however think it was a bit too unstructured and you aren't truly drawn into the image.

Bruce's (Bramela) logs image...

This image stood out for me because of the subtle use of the theme. At first glance it seems unremarkable, but you slowly see that the trees have been cut. Very ingenious!! The image was, however, lacking relief(the eye can't rest) and doesn't draw the observer in.

And the winner is
.
.
.
.
Bart's road and field picture...

I really liked the way that the theme was represented in this picture and the composition leading the unnatural(road) to the natural(tree) it was a truly striking image for me. Well done!! and enjoy coming up with the next competition.
P.S I also really liked the lighthouse image, but I don't think it fitted the bill.

Well done to everyone! Nicole

So its over to Bart for his choice and judgement...
Cheers
Kevin

Thanks, Nicole! I'm really honored. I'll try to come up with a good theme for the next one.

Thanks, Bramela.

Thanks Nicole, for the runner up award. Shot was taken from a stopped recumbent bicycle. Congratulations to Bart.

Ready for the B&W contest. Should be fun.
