W80 Optio TimeLapse/external power?

Any way to power this externally so I can set it and forget it for 20 hours to capture my post and beam home going up in 2 weeks ?

How many pics/hours will the internal battery go ?

Help ! It coming up soon !

Thanks for ANY input.

I'm unaware of any external power for the W80.

Thats a bummer.
Would any of you guys familiar with the series guess a full charge of the factory battery would last enough for a time lapse every 10 minutes for 8-9 hours....50 pics or so ??

Also Anyone here done any time lapse ? I really hope I can figure this out to capture the frame going up. lol

I think you would need to use the K-AC78 adapter kit (page 37 in owners manual) for any extended operations.
Amazon.com: Pentax K AC78U - Power adapter: Electronics

Cheers, Mike.
Was supposed to say page 37, not 17.

I don't think the battery will last. It's small, and one of the first things I did was buy a spare. I can't get more than a few hours from it.

The w80 is really not designed to do what you have in mind. BNattery won't last, for sure, and I doubt 9 hours of time lapse is even possible.

Page 95 in owners manual.
Interval: 10 sec. - 99 min.
Number of shots:minimum 2 shots, up to 1000 shots, memory allowing.
So 99min. X 1000 =99000 min. /60min. =1650 hours.
1650 hours / 24= little over two months worth of time-lapse!.
Better hook up your AC adapter(K-AC78, page 37 in owners manual) to a UPS, just to make sure the power stays on.

Cheers, Mike.

Puts my K-7 interval shooting ability to shame.

The Amazon page says that adapter is for the Optio M50 & W60. No mention is made of the W80. Does the W80 use the same battery as the W60? Also the position of the cord on the adapter would appear to interfere with installing it in the W80.

I too have an Optio W80 and am looking for an AC power supply for it. This is the only thread that discussed the power supply. The information provided looks questionable. Obviously I do not want to order the item if it is incompatible with my camera.

So, again, do they take the same batteries? (Which implies that the same AC adapter would work on each.)

And, if you don't mind my asking, or even if you do, why didn't you answer the question in your other post? That would have saved both of us time.
