Optio 50l

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here, and I've tried to search for Optio 50l users, but with no result, that's why I'm starting this thread.
I'm getting my camera in a day or two, so I'm very unexperienced with it - well, I just want to use it for easy amateur shots.
My question is:
The user's manual says that an SD memory card "up to 1 GB" can be used with this camera - how much is this serious? I already have a 2 GB card, can't I use it with it?
Thanks for any answer and any recommendation about this low end camera.
G.

Plug it in and find out. My cell phone manual stated that it can only take up to 1gb memory stick duos... I bought a 2gb anyways and it works in my phone just fine.

I've got it today, plugged it in, and found out - it won't work with a larger card than 1 GB. It simply can't recognize a 2 GB card. Fortunately enough, I also ordered a 1 GB high speed card with the camera (I just couldn't resist its price and I thought it'd be good for sparing just like an extra pair of rechargeable batteries), and now everything works fine, quite a few hundreds of good quality pictures can be taken this way, too.
Maybe I'll go out and shoot things with this little tourist baby, brush up the shots with Photoshop, and win a contest in this forum some day....

Well that's a bummer. Glad that hasn't stopped you from going out and shoot!

Thanks for moving the thread here. I realised I started the it at the wrong place but couldn't do anything about it.

No, I really shoot a lot, but half of it is rubbish. I still have to learn even this very simple camera.
But one GB seems far enough....

Check the Pentax site. There may be a firmware update for the camera to allow larger cards. They have updates for quite a few cameras. If not the card may still work, but only up to 1g.
thanks

Thanks for the advice.
Today I tried the 2g card again, and it worked fine this time. It seems it can use the whole capacity of the card as the number of possible shots displayed shows twice as many shots as with the 1g card, and also, when I connect the camera to the computer, the free space on the removable disk is about 2g as well.
I don't really know why I couldn't use it at first; there might have been some problem due to incorrect insertion...
