Point & Shoot Contest #36

Time to kick off our 36th contest. Can't wait to see what you guys enter.

The rules:

1. Have fun!

2. No 35mm, APS, or 4/3 slr/dslr cameras allowed. No film slrs except Pentax 110 (grandfathered in). 35mm and smaller rangefinder/viewfinder cameras are allowed. No large format cameras allowed. This one time medium format non-slr cameras will be allowed.

3. Entries will close on Nov. 28th midnight central time, USA.

4. Max image dimensions are 800 X 800 pixels.

5. List camera brand, model, with entry for all to see.

6. NO THEME - Shoot what you want.

7. Max 3 photographs per person.

8. Post processing is fine.

9. Winner will set up and judge next contest.

No theme will make it harder to judge, but I really want to see your favorite subjects and images. Enjoy.

thanks
barondla

Honestly, I think shooting without a theme in mind will be tougher than shooting with one. The theme is usually my starting point.

Errr yeah, I agree with Unixrevolution on this. I'd need a theme.
Last month, my company has set up a photo contest (limited to employees), the theme being "the most amazing". Damn.
I sent a picture to say I played... but it wasn't that amazing, indeed, and I may post it as my contest submission

Yes abstract, just post your image here. Can't wait to see what you submit. Welcome to the forum.

Nice image G.T.

Never thought people would find a themeless contest more difficult. Post what you normally shoot when not entering a contest. Have fun.

thanks

Since this is November, the month we especially remember our departed family and friends over here, I selected some pictures from a cemetery. In the older cemeteries, you can find some quite remarkable sights.

All with Panasonic FX500.

Needed at least one B&W entry for this subject

Pentax S5i. Night mode with pan-focus and maximum shutter speed forced by holding my hand over the lens for exposure lock. GIMPed only for cropping and selection of black, white, and gray points.

Interesting capture of camera column sample rate vs. field rate of NTSC. Discrete time time does exist!! I don't remember the movie I was watching at the time.

@Abstract

I really love your composition in Falling Society. It is very nice; great lines and emotion from these. Excellent stuff.

I don't know if I'll get my medium format film back in time to enter the contest. Sadness.

Ow. That would be unfortunate!
Still a week to go, though.

(other than the cost of film & developing, that was another of my reasons for going digital)
