Hi fuent104,
I think it's unlikely that Pentax would make tubes for the Q though it should be a natural for macros. You'd lose the leaf shutter and be forced to use the electronic shutter in the body, and I don't know how this would effect IQ or handling -- depends on the sophistication of the electronic shutter.
As a side note, I think that the leaf shutters is Pentax's solution to discourage people from using anything but Q system lenses. By allowing interchangeable lenses, it becomes just too tempting to hang a big lens on an adapter, and I'm sure that the body and mount has weight limitations that would be ignored by users. One of the first thoughts I had after the announcement was how easily a K to Q adapter would be to make. . . then I remembered the leaf shutters. . .
I hate to admit it, but in their position as the manufacturer, I'd probably do the same to try to forestall a lot of warranty and liability woes.
I've already looked into 40.5>43 and 52mm step up rings so I could mount my Nikon 4T and Raynox DCR 250 to a Q if I decide to get one. . .
If Pentax wants to exploit the Q's inherent strengths, a telephoto and a dedicated macro would be the most logical next lenses (or they could combine the two!). A 1:1 macro would give you a 3.85x magnification advantage over APS-C relative to the image frame.
