It is just as airborne as you are - flap those earlobes harder.

I like the 2nd pic, wasn't posted when I commented earlier.

My entries. I've enjoyed the photos so far.

Camera Leica D-LUX 5
Exposure 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture f/4.5
Focal Length 5.1 mm
ISO Speed 80

Camera Leica D-LUX 5
Exposure 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture f/4.0
Focal Length 10.7 mm
ISO Speed 80

Camera Ricoh GR Digital 3
Exposure 0.067 sec (1/15)
Aperture f/1.9
Focal Length 6 mm

(well, kind of, this is the Ricoh digitising an old film capture. Polaroid, or the old Kodak 112 film.)

G.T, I couldn't say. I don't know my helicopters. If I get back there I'll see if there is more detail. Actually, I just took a quick look online. All I could find indicated the helicopter was a Cobra. Not sure if that is right or not.

Those two-blades rotors whips the air like no other... Some weeks ago, I was out when I hear this kind of unmistakable noise. It was a Bell 47.

Well, I'm back and for a moment I thought I captured a great flying machine on my trip:

But unfortunately (?), it turned out this was not one of the long awaited Flying Saucers but just a piece of rusty debris

So, I decided to stick with what I already had (+ some processing just now)

1 Flying? Let me think about that...

2 They Fly!

3 Evening flight

All with Panasonic FX500, even the saucer

(The truth is out there )

And great entries so far, everyone!

Bart, too late to wish you a happy Belgian day. I guess you won't take no offense

True, I love seashores, but I won't let my feelings talk here. I like your #2 entry, and the kind of old-school grain / color rendition you applied on your set.

Thanks for the comments and welcome back G.T and ivoire!

The fête nationale/nationale feestdag is indeed just passed: on July 21th. But it is not a big deal over here.
Not like in France for instance. As it happens, I was in France on July 14th. Stayed in a very small village - Le pont d'Alleyras - and even there there was fireworks in the evening.

Even if a happy Bastille Day isn't wished to everybody around, it's a vacation day, and there are a lot of festivities, the most known certainly being the military parade on the Champs Elysées. Paris's fireworks also have a stunning reputation... but yes, true, in most villages, there's at least some fireworks and often a ball, although sometimes scheduled on 13th evening.
