A fine shot, G.T
And those people are definitely @ Work.

(I'm just ignoring the printer )

Too bad about the cop: that would have been a bold move

Erik,

To me it does the job as well. You made the shot from behind a windscreen, right?

I might have another pic to submit, but it's pretty close from my first submission.
The shot I took was from behind a windscreen, but very close to the glass. Another shot I took at the same place with no auto glass in the way looked just about the same concerning the light sources. I think it's the geometry of the tiny lens.

I've also noticed the Optio A40 does the exact same thing with many other light sources, so though I wish I could blame the auto glass, it's just one of the things that small camera doesn't do well.

Mind, it's one of the only things it doesn't do well.

Interesting composition with the lines, samtr87.
Thanks! I didn't even notice all the lines and angles. Just tried to take a quick one so I didn't look creepy.

Coat-hanger Salesmen
Attachment 101914
South Africa has more plastic coat hanger salesmen per road intersection
than any other place in the world!

Nice entries, Anton!
a window into a far away world (for me).

We don't have any plastic coat hanger salesmen over here, not on intersections nor anyway else for that matter.

We do have 'SPAR' however (if I read correctly)

Thanks for the compliment Bart.
Yes - it is a SPAR convenience store.

The coat hanger salesmen sell packs of 30 plastic hangers. There are also guys who sell cell phone chargers, various kinds of bags and backpacks, and packs of 50 trash can plastic liners. The "up market" intersections have Coca Cola salesmen with ice cold drinks and even ice cream sellers and newspaper vendors. When we have rainy weather they sell umbrellas as well! Unemployment is high and these guys are trying to make an honest living, so many motorists support them and buy their products.

Great pics...and admittedly, I'm somewhat jealous... it'd be handy to just step outside & buy some hangers whenever I'm actually cleaning and putting clothes away.

Oookay! There we go with the winners:

3rd place: parking person by RyanW

close 2nd: Anton Magus with the clothhanger salesman

1st place: ivoire's mural – close decision between that and the pink boots

honorable mentions: cherry picking by unixrevolution

science building by samtr

Congratulations, ivoire. You're next - although you have been winner before. But I think your contributions have really been the best ones and deserve the 1st place.

Thanks to andreaffm for a great theme which garnered so many fine entries. Congrats to Anton Magus, Ryanw, unixrevolution, samtr and all who participated. I am surprised and honored by the win. It was a lot of fun to get out and try something like this as I rarely shoot people (and have begun street shooting as a result). I am thinking that the next competition will be a similar theme as this one brought in a lot of competition. I'll give it some thought and post PnS Contest #46 shortly. Actually, the thought has manifested and PnS Contest #46 is up and running! see you there!
