Point and Shoot Contest #45: (Wo)Men at Work

Day job or labor of love: People work. With their hands and their brains. They mould clay, they bake cakes, they operate bucket-wheel excavators. Show me what people do to get things done!


THE RULES

1. Have fun!

2. Cameras
i. Cameras Not Allowed:
1. 35mm, APS, 4/3 Film or Digital SLRs.
2. Interchangeable lens cameras of any kind.
3. Medium format SLRs, Rangefinders, and TLRs.
4. Large format cameras.

ii. Cameras permitted (cameras listed as acceptable here supersede rule i above):
1. Fixed-lens 35mm and smaller-format film and digital rangefinder and viewfinder cameras
2. Interchangeable or Fixed-lens 110 Film SLRs
3. 6x9, 6x7, 6x6, and 6x4.5 Medium Format"Folding", "Box" or "Holga-style" scale-focus cameras .

3. Entries will close on August 31st, 2011, midnight Central Time, Chicago,U.S.

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 pixels.

5. List camera brand, model with entry for all to see.

6. THEME: " (Wo)Men at work"

7. Max of 3 photographs per person.

8. Post processing is fine.

9. Winner will set up and judge next contest.

Like the theme, should see some interesting entries. Now i have to go wandering again.

This could indeed give interesting entries.
Bit difficult for me since I rarely shoot people. :ugh:
I'll see if I can come up with something.
And I'll enjoy the other entries, of course.

ooooh.... street shooting coming up and I don't do people much either. This is a good challenge

Seems I was able to produce some suitable pictures, anyway

People that work in tourism.
Both are from a visit to Bruges in Flanders, Belgium.

Both pictures are taken with Panasonic FX500 and converted in LR
(grain was added )

I love Belgium for some reason (the chocolate mostly).

I like Bart's first photo an awful lot, the mural painting photo, and I really don't think I can compete with those pink cowboy boots.

immunogirl... your kayak lesson is a great image and the lobster boats a classic. as for the pedal cab woman, weren't they looking at the santa hat???

the boots were a surprise. bright sunny day, everyone in shorts, tees, sneakers, flip-flops and then these walked past. had to get a quick shot.... resistance is futile
