Zoom90WR question

I picked up a pristine Zoom90WR at a Salvation Army today. Got the camera, case, manuel, roll of film and the original purchase receipt. Original owner paid $219.86 for the camera in August 1993, I paid $2.99!

The infrared remote that comes with the camera doesn't work. Manuel says to send the remote to Pentax for service or battery change. Anybody know what batteries these remotes take? How hard are they to change? Thanks.

I changed remote battery myself - -remove the screw - using a blade separate the two halves by leverage - remove the battery after taking a quick digital image of orientation - whichway up does it sit? Take battery to battery shop - easily sourced for about $5.00. Then reverse the process.

Thanks Arjay Bee, remote came apart no problem.

Battery is a 3V CR1620.

Thats a great tuff camera! Had one for a number of years then gave it to my daughter who still uses it.

I agree Ahab, this camera is built like a tank.

I checked the battery with my voltmeter and it shows 3.15 volts. Icon in window on top of camera is supposed to show when the remote is removed, its a no show. It's hard to believe the remote doesn't work on a camera as pristine as this one is. I think I'm going to try a new battery anyways.
