Aw. They just looked exactly like the lights we use in our Christmas tree and this 'being the season', I just assumed that's what they were.

Hope I didn't offend you, John.
No offense taken, but thanks for the concern. I used to celebrate it, and the lights probably were originally used when I still did, but after doing some research on the celebration and it's origins, and comparing it with the Bible accounts, I've decided not to. I won't go further into an explanation since that fits in more with a different section of the forums. Needless to say, I still love the way the lights make things look, but just don't limit their use to one time a year, they're up year round.

LX-5 at 24mm, ISO 400, 1/40th. This is the interior of the Schubert Theater, New Haven CT. Rather a literal interprestation of the theme...

Glad you decided to join in, kyteflyer. Nice clean night cityscape.

That took me a while to realise what I saw, woof. Literal interpretation maybe but an interesting shot for sure.

So many great photos for "Lights" Point and Shoot Contest. My favorites are Bart's #3 black and white, LOVE ivoire's #2 black&white with fx & the "Chromed steel balls with cyalume lights in the dark" Don't make me choose which photo I like the best because I can't! Immunogirl's #2 Video Player pic is a fave and jheu02 #1 shot of a small LED flashlight is an awesome capture and so creative. kyteflyer's "Queens Wharf by Night" is a winner! woof's interior of the Schubert Theater is great. It's an abstract... no no wait it's an interior. Love photos that make you look.

Sorry I am late starting... but I will submit my 3 photos in the next post,

This is only my 3rd entry > so > I am still new here but, if I can be honest, with everyone.... I hope I never win this (point and shoot) contest!. As a judge I would stink. You all would make judging a pain in the butt because I couldn't make up my mind! Keep em coming!

3 "Lights" photo entries

I noticed that my last month photo entries were taken down by photobucket. WOW > never got that many views, before! This month will be different as I will put them on my new blog. Please excuse my reposting(s) if it doesn't work. What do you all use to post your photos, here?

3 different p&s camera entries this month. The Canon PowerShot G2 is the oldest p&s but barely keeps a charge, the vivitar xatiE1 is on it's last legs with some wacky discolored pics and the Panasonic DMC-ZS6 is my newest p&s and a joy to shoot > thanks to ivoire.

I used to use imageshack.us (still do sometimes) but since taking a "pro" at flickr, am using that. The share is easypeasy and people can then easily look at the full size shot if they want to.

Bart, thanks, a little more noise than I wanted, and some were blurred, will
try to get out a few more times.
