Optio E90; removing date & time?

I just returned from a vacation trip with my grandchildren and have been looking at some of their pictures. Unfortunately (to my way of thinking), one of them was using an Optio E90, with the date & time function turned on, which of course, has imprinted all of the pictures. I have promised to print, for framing, a couple of these and was wondering if there is a way to remove the date & time info. I'm guessing that it can't be done via software and I will have to clone it out if necessary, but thought that it was worth posing the question.

Cloning and cropping are likely your only options as this point, unfortunately.
