Now that is an original abandonment image, barondla! unwanted jewellery.
Great!

Todd, in at the last moment.
Worthy entries! the first one is full of emotion.

This closes the contest #54.

Many great entries!
Now I'll need some ( a lot ) time to come to a decision.
I'll be back
One of these months ill remember to actually check the end date, rather than assume last day at midnight...

Sure, Erik.
But not until midnight in your part of the world
Then it's almost morning here.

These don't qualify as they're with my dslr, but took them last weekend & they fit the theme.

Looking forward to seeing next month's theme.

Let me start by congratulating everyone who participated!

I think the theme was extremely well interpreted and caught by all the participants.
That didn't make it any easier for me!

Finally I took my usual approach which is very subjective, completely subjective even
I didn't judge on any technical merit but simply by evaluating how I respond to the images - keeping the theme in mind of course as the first guideline.

I'll start with honouring 3 people that picked the same subject. Very amazing to me. In no particular order:

Same subject, totally different approach.

Now on to my picks:

Third place goes to our first entry, G.T - makes me wonder about the story behind this.

Ex-aequo on the second place: abandoned houses - makes me feel all the dreams that were abandoned here.

and ghl

And finally, 1st place for Catriona - what I get here is the emotions from the kid that abandoned this or was it abandoned by the toy?

Now, Catriona, I'm looking forward for your contest

I'm surprised you selected one of my worst pics as ranking third. Whatever...
That was a nice theme, as I possibly wrote before (to be honest I can't remember and I'm too lazy to check).
Congratulations Catriona. You've fed us with some very nice photos again, your victory is well deserved, IMO. And, I... well. I know
