Quick & dirty, I hope I'll have something any better than this...
Tis moody like Bart says. The noise looks a bit like weird cloudy stuff. I think its fine, but delete if you must.

After seeing Kyteflyer's, probably I shouldn't bother to post!

I can't remember if I've posted this before as well.

Immunogirl, The more the merrier. I like your first pic, but the 2nd one isn't really dark, except maybe the cap? It's a great photo never the less.

It's grey & misty!

The problem with dark is that it's dark.

2nd Entry "Alien Sunset"

Here's my second Darkness entry, "Alien Sunset". This is slightly processed, not much, though. That's really how the clouds looked, just after a heavy rainstorm.
Taken as usual, with my Optio I-10, 20.6mm (equ 114mm) f/5.3, 1/100s, ISO 800.
Generally I don't care for digital noise but in this shot it seems to work, as an "otherworldly" effect.

Catriona, I like your first pic very much.
Ron, amazing colors in the skies, a bit as if it was the end of the world

Darkness may refer to a glam-rock band or to an Iron Maiden's song ("Fear of the dark", you guessed it).

Here's my third pic.

rbefly, thanks for the 3rd entry.

GT, well played, that's the kind of photos I was looking towards as well, not only night photos

Great, Ron!
I have a soft spot for anything alien.

Nice tie, G.T
Indeed a more creative interpretation of the theme!

Hi Nuff,
That was only my 2nd entry, 1 more to go.
G.T., Thanks! And I like the tie shot, creative.
Bart, I appreciate it, I'm an Alien "look" fan also. I tried to crop it so there's nothing too human in the frame.

Bunch of photographers got together for fine food and some night shooting. Everyone had big DSLRs and tripods.

I took the Q with #01 8.5mm ( 47mm eq.) lens and shot handheld. Fast lens that is sharp wide open, coupled with SR, and no vibration allows for more low light capability than many think.
thanks
