Have a look at the Fuji X10 and the new X20. I believe they meet your criteria.

I was hoping for something unique from Pentax, but I can't find anything in the spec that isn't available elsewhere. WR would have been a good selling point.

A big step up from the Optios, but it's a cluttered market it's competing in and I think Fuji's X-20 is a much nicer camera than this.

I'm waiting to see what Ricoh has cooking with the next GRD. Also would be nice if some of that Ricoh usability mojo pollenated the Pentax compact camera team.

Sony BSI CMOS 12 MP sensor is better than X10/X20's sensor.

The X10 had lower resolution due to its sensor. The X20 has been upgraded with a new 2/3" X-Trans sensor (back-side illuminated, no Bayer filter).

I actually do think that this little thing is one selling point. And SR. If these things are so similar in technical point of view, this kind a things can turn the game on for Pentax MX-1...no?

The same bad lens and the same bad sensor.

'EXR' technology vs X-Trans. It's marketing junk and nothing else.

brass top and bottom, if you buy the black one it will brass just like the old Black MX's, thats kinda cool...

EDIT: After doing more research into this camera I'm thinking of dumping the Q and going with this... I just want to see image examples and than I'll make the call... ok big deal for me, is manual focus on the lens barrel or is it push button style like the wg-1 and 2?

I'm buying one. I don't use my Q enough because I want to be able to zoom a bit. But carrying around the 02 and 06 in my pocket isn't exactly a solution. I will still use the Q and the 06 (once I get one) for hockey games! (yay Oilers are back!!!) and the MX-1 will do what my Q/01 does now, accompany me wherever I go. It is just a better "best camera is the one you have with you" camera than the Q is.

oh thats just stupid... hopefully we'll see a more pro version of this later on, like an x100... the size is just way to big for such a small sensor...
