You sure did, Mike. There was a wing-ding argument over this very topic which raged from September 2011 to January 2012. See What is, and what is NOT, a "Point and shoot?"

Out of all that came the rules outlined in unixrevolution's post above.
Previous to these new, somewhat mutually accepted rules, one of the rules was that the person who sets the competition also had the right to set the rules of the competition.
After the new rules were instituted they did NOT include (as a rule) the right to set the rules, but only to set the theme/subject and the closing date.

So, by a simple cut-and-paste confusion you have inadvertently opened Pandora's Box and the demons of wrath are overwhelming you.
Believe me, you just don't want to go there!

I would strongly urge you to just close the box and put everything back the way it was. Then we can all (hopefully) close the subject and get on with the business of having fun with whatever camera we happen to enjoy using for this contest.

WOW!

I'm still new around here, so I missed out on that little bit of fun. To bad too, I'm a regular shit-house lawyer, I love a good argument.

Anywho... I think I made it clear in my last post that I don't really care what you use to take your pictures with here... It's not important!
What is and what is not a P&S?... Use your own judgement... just don't use you new K30.

Now lets get back to it shall we...

Thanks, Fastback67, for hosting!
Lots of great entries already, including the nice shot by UFCfanWI!

I would like to preface my bridge entry with a short, but, happy story.
Back in 2004, I got the opportunity to take a tour of Italy for less than half price. I was loaned my friends Olympus C700UZ 2mp camera for travel pics.
Came home with 9 days worth of memories and way too many pics to handle. I promptly resized them all for storage and shared with friends and family.
Except, Yesterday I found on a unmarked CD all my trip pics saved straight from the camera.

This is the Bridge of Angels in Rome. I wanted to see how far I could push a 2mp file and so this is a Topaz HDR with a B&W treatment. I did have to do some sky smoothing afterwords.

Thanks, Bart!
My idea is to try and get some re-edited and use my gift certficate for one of those photo book thingys.
I had better hurry, though, it's 60 deg. F today and I feel Spring is around the corner.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone!

chemtech - that's some pretty impressive processing on a 2MP photo! Wow!

UFCfanWI, welcome, to the forum and it is a great POV you used for your shot!

Thanks, I was rather surprised myself what details 2MP could hold, and thought others might enjoy seeing the result as well.

It was a lovely shot, and I wasn't surprised at what you could do with it. The Olympus "C" series cameras were, I believe, the best of their time. I have a C760 and refuse to part with it, even though its days are done. I periodically get it out and use it, just for fun.

Thanks, kyteflyer!
When I returned from my trip I got a used C770UZ because I liked my friends camera so much. I still love this camera! Then after a time the batteries wouldn't hold a charge any longer and I thought it would be cheaper to find another camera. If I only knew, what I know now!!

I ended up in Pentax land with a Kx using all that legacy glass I had from film days. Then because of an old neck injury, I learned that the heavy telephoto stuff had to go. Thus entered the Panasonic FZ150, which could use the telephoto attachment that came with the old C770UZ. My CBA and LBA is now way out of control...... I blame it on those old Olympus batteries...

Here's my second try... I took this today, while on my way (and not driving). I think B&W fits better.

As usual, Optio P80, now somewhat crippled. D'oh.

Great view of the inviting distance, G.T!

And being able to drive instead of standing in a traffic jam

B&W is the way to go.
