The theme for this month is:

décor
1. style or mode of decoration, as of a room, building, or the like: modern office décor; a bedroom having a Spanish décor.
2. decoration in general; ornamentation: beads, baubles, and other décor.
3. Theater . scenic decoration; scenery.

The Rules (see rule change in red below)

1. Have Fun!

2. Cameras:
No cameras with sensors larger than 1"
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use
No interchangeable lens cameras
No 35mm (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1 kg

Cameras permitted (cameras listed as acceptable here supersede rules above)
Fixed-lens 35mm and smaller-format film and digital rangefinder and viewfinder cameras
Interchangeable or Fixed-lens 110 film SLRs and Pentax Q
TLRs, 6x9, 6x7, 6x6 and 6x4.5 Medium Format "Folding", "Box", or "Holga-style" scale focus cameras (subject to 1 kg weight limitation)

3. Entries will close on March 31, 2011, Midnight EST.

4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels

5. Max of 3 image entries per person. Images must be taken within the month of the competition. Entries may be withdrawn or changed.

6. List camera brand, model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

7. Post processing is fine, but no heavy processing (e.g. HDR, panorama).

8. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges next competition

9. Have Fun!

Nice theme, I agree... but the red line about the freshness of the pics to be entered makes it way tougher, IMO!

It's such a broad theme, you could probably find three opportunities in a single day; jewelry, tattooes, architectural features, furnishings, art, paint, etc. I haven't posted anything yet because I'm going to use film (Pentax Espio). OTOH, I haven't shot film for 20 years, so I'll need digital backup.

I agree with Dan... Unless you are currently incarcerated, living in a drab 5 X 10 cell with bare walls and no windows, there are opportunities available, so no excuses

Thanks Bart. It's surprising to me that current photos are not part of the P&S "competition". Competing doesn't interest me much, I like getting out with a humble camera and trying to make a photograph that's worthwhile posting.
