Do you know what you would search for on eBay for that?

Thanks

Such a good looking set up - the mount is technically a cold shoe though, right? No electricity or triggering going through it, yeah?

Not sure I'm getting where you're coming from exactly, but you shouldn't need to use a remote trigger - just set your external flashgun to slave and use the MX1's built in to trigger it.

Works perfectly for me with a Yongnuo 568.

Getting the exposure right is tricky but the guy's tip in the video helps (setting your aperture to wide open in manual, auto-calculate the exposure with the green button, and then narrow the aperture to f8 while maintaining the shutter speed).
I can't get it to sync with my Y 560-III
Tried everything I know. You have it working, so I've missed something - care to share please

BTW: I have no problems using the Yongnuo 560-III with the Pentax Q (or K-7 and K-01) Just seems not to work (sync) with the MX-1 (for me)

Set the flash on s2 mode it should see the cameras flash preflash and go off at the correct time to add to the overall flash . S1 will also apear to work but the timing will be wrong.

Does the mx do preflash? If so then set the Mx to red eye that should at least trigger the yn even if it then flashes at the wrong time , if not then it's faulty, I would think,

Fault? - how could there be, the built in flash works fine and syncs with the shutter.
You have either Flash-on, Flash-on + Red eye, Slow-speed sync, Slow-speed sync + Red-eye, Trailing-curtain sync.

I have tried them all.
The Yongnuo works fine with the Q, the K-01 and the K-7, so the Yongnuo speedlight works fine too. There seems to be some incompatibility between the MX-1 and Yongnuo

Very odd makes no sense at all, no ideas in that case it's as if the flash output on the mx is not being "seen" by the optical sensor on the flash for some reason , which since it sees the other models is very odd.

It sees it, and it flashes - just not in perfect sync to make any difference to the shot. Only the built-in flash illuminates the subject.
Easy to test as well, take a photo of the flash unit.
Do this with the Q, K-01 and K-7 and you get a photo of the Yongnuo lit, do it with the MX-1 and you get a shot of the Yongnuo dark, but it did flash - easy to see with you eyes at the time.

Example: Pentax Q triggering the Yonguo
