Nice set, Catriona. I think the sepia adds something to the general idea of abandonment.

That is definitely a hit, barondla.

I especially like your monochromes, Catriona.

It's time to pick the winners, and you guys made it hard for me. Since basically every entry fit the theme, I factored in composition and any post-processing used to set the mood for the overall picture.

3rd place: Bart

2nd place: pntx. The composition was good and the missing hands really show how the clock lost its purpose.

1st place: barondla. I feel like the tree and the house have a story to tell.

Congratulations to pntx & Bart. Well done. Thanks samtr87 for setting up and running a great contest. Honored to be picked to run #71. It should be up today or tomorrow.
thanks
barondla

A side story. Wanted to photograph a barn, driven by almost daily for 20+ years, locatd about 1/4 mile from my house. Unfortunately, it rained constantly the last weekend of this contest. Substituted the above image. Drove by Tuesday and the barn was totally gone. Demolished the day before and carted off. Like losing an old friend.

.

Sorry, to hear about the old barn disappearing. I've had a few favorite subjects go missing this way, myself.
