Thanks for the reply. I guess my camera must be a pre production model. Seems to be in some kind of development
mode.
Hi. Mine also shows v1.00

You are right. No firmware downloads. But still a very capable camera.

Well you can preview and delete images, also you can make menu changes with the lens cap still on.
Just press and hold the Preview button on the camera to start it up without the lens extending.
What's the Preview button?

What's the Preview button?[COLOR="Silver"]
The button that lets you preview your pictures. AKA 'Playback'

MX-1 needs a successor with an 1" sensor or stay 1/1,7" and longer zoom plus EVF.
away with the EV-correction wheel and voila
.. there will be so much space on the shoulders of that body, it could easily carry: pop-up-flash, hotshoe-mount, EVF... and still...
.. there would still be space left for some ASAHI-PENTAX logo print. easy peasy lemon squeazzy!

Because there will never be an MX-2 or improvements to MX-1 via firmware and because Pentax are not committed to their cameras or customers.

I have an MX-1, but this is one (of many) reasons why I predominantly shoot film these days. I don't need support or firmware updates or constant new wizardry from my cameras. I need Eric Hendrickson, on occasion for service of a newly acquired body and eventually for him to train a replacement as he won't work on film SLRs forever. I really need to just sell my K-5iis and digital-specific lenses. I have the MX-1 for lowlight and raw needs, which rarely is anything other than family snapshots anyway. Might just get that ad posted this coming week.

I have the same issue as Staynerv with version 666. Is there any method to revert back to the Version 1.00? It seems that even the menus are totally different from the stock version.
