2007 Eurotrip

I'll get the ball rolling. I went to Europe last year and took a bunch of photos, i thought a few would apply to this category! bonus points for identifying the locations!

Pictures taken with a Sony DSC-P8; what a crappy P&S, it never wants to go above ISO 100 and still crazy noisy. but i got it for free and it has served my family well for years.

Looks like you went to Berlin! Number two is of the Reichstag and the third is the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz. How do I know? Well, um...

Well there were only fou members that submitted pics for the P&S Contest #5. Thanks to ever yone who submitted an entry. All were great shots and were very good for the subject I chose.

After thinking about it over night, I have decided to award 3rd palce to barondla, second place to k10d, and the grand prize winner to rparmar.

I think it was rparmar's version of the Potsdamer Platz that gave him the edge. It was nice to see 2 images by 2 different photographers of the same location. Nicely done.

I'll send rparmar a PM to congratulate the winner.

Frank

Wow! Thanks for that. Too bad there were not more entries, since it's always great to see how the theme is interpreted. I'll have to read up on the rules now.

EDIT: OK, I think I get the idea. What do people think of giving a full month for entries, just to get more?

Thank you for picking my shot for 3rd place. All the images were really nice. Architecture isn't the first thing people associate with P&S cameras. Difficult subject handled well by all. Congratulations to rparmar and K100D. Great job.
thanks

I think I may have laid down on my back for that. I do remember getting a lot of strange looks! Tinting it was a complete afterthought. For some reason the shot looks better in this colour that any other. Weird.

Visiting Potsdamer Platz was surreal since I had two contrary images in my head: the first from old pre-war footage of the bustling street-corner and the second the desolate no-man's-land so well portrayed in Wim Wenders Wings of Desire. The current-day reality is poles away from either of these.

Berlin is a brilliant place. I should have moved there when I was 18. Would never have left and might know German by now.
