Pentax Compact Camera Post Processing Contest #18

Take a break from the Holiday rush and stop in and play awhile. All are welcome!!

The Rules
1. Have Fun!
2. Use any Post Processing Software and techniques.
3. Entries will close on December 31, 2013, at 9:00 pm CST.
4. Maximum image dimensions for entries are 1024x768 pixels
5. Max of 3 image entries per person. Entries may be withdrawn or changed
6. List software used, as well as your method, with your entry so we can all learn.
7. There are no limits or restrictions - make the subject image into whatever you want!
But please do not copy or alter other entries....
8. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date, and judge’s the next competition.
9. Have Fun!

This was taken this summer at the State Fair. I was trying to capture the guy on the zip line a little further back from where he ended up. My Camera, had a differing opinion apparently.

Fun image, Edith!

I don't know why exactly but it made me somewhat nostalgic

Starting with DxO Filmpack 4.5 - emulation of Fuji Provia 400x in a preset "Photo 70's"

Next with Color Efex 4 - applying some filters to get this effect.

And last, Silver Efex 2 - to get a b&w photo

I like your style, Bart! You really brought out the feeling of the day with the first one and the crisp rendition of the B&W really highlighted the subjects well.
Happy Holidays!

Oh, my Goodness, Todd. The "Tim" treatment is superb! I'm still laughing and smiling here.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Just a kindly reminder that there's less than a week to New Years and the end of this contest.

Still plenty of time to get your entry in, so come on in and join the fun!

Happy New Year!
This contest is now officially closed. Thank you, Bart and Todd for entering during such a busy time!
I now have to make the difficult decision of choosing the winner, because both are deserving to my eyes.

Bart, your third entry using the Silver Efex2 is superb. You were able to bring out such detail and added depth to my lackluster image. You removed the distraction of the little girl on the far right and really highlighted the subjects well. Your first entry using a DXO film pack really worked well to give a nostalgic look and feel to the image. Perfect choice for a State Fair photo. The second image you did using a Color Efex 4 filter is dreamy and made me think of a hot summer day.

Todd, you gave the image the "Tim" treatment and made me almost fall off my chair while laughing. You clearly have imagination and PP skills in abundance. The way the two mythical creatures are placed gives a different meaning to what the mother is pointing at. I also wouldn't want to be the guy on the zip line at this moment. You clearly fixed my missing the moment shot in a "large" way.

My choice of winners:

2nd place, goes to Bart, for his excellent Silver Efex 2 B&W version.

1st place, and the host of the next contest goes to Todd, for including the "fight of century".

Thanks Edith and all. I am waiting to hear back from Bart about possibly hosting the next round, only because I am having a hard time finding something that I find suitable to host with. If he isn't available, I will either dig harder or just take a shot for the next challenge.

Edit: Bart has kindly agreed to host the next round. Thanks Bart!
