Point and Shoot Competition #73: Wait…. what?
Point and Shoot Competition #73: "Wait…. what?!?!?"
For this round lets see those shots that require a second (or third) look. The double take can be from the subject itself or to analyze how the photographer created the shot. The "I can't believe it is not photoshop" effect. If you are really tricky don’t give away your technique at first… give everyone time to think about it.
Play around with forced perspective (take advantage of that small sensor lens), field of view, shutter speed, angle, lighting/flash, unexpected composition, juxtaposition and so on. Happy accidents accepted but it is a more interesting experience if you visualize the shot and then make it happen.
Contest judged on how technique, creativity and how effective the "double take" is. The rules:
1. Have fun!
2. Cameras:
No cameras with sensors larger than 1".
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras.
No 35mm (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.
Cameras permitted (cameras listed as acceptable here supersede rules above):
Mobile phones, old and new, iPods, tablets, toy cameras.
Fixed-lens 35mm and smaller-format film and digital rangefinder and viewfinder cameras. Note:To me this would include things like the Ricoh GRs, Sony RX1, Sigma DP series, X100 and so on.. they are fixed lens, digital viewfinder cameras that have 35mm or small sensors.
Interchangeable or fixed-lens 110film SLRs and Pentax Q.
