Me too! At a friends house last night for dinner... A beautiful home I was wishing I could go photo crazy on but had to be a good guest and just got sneaky with this one..

This one took me back to a time lapse I took (with my point n shoot) back in 2008, not knowing it was going to include a special guest..

Cool interpretation of the theme, Shawn!
Is that a Minox in your camera collection?

Yes, that is a Minox B. A very cool little camera. I need to slit some B&W film and shoot with it more.

I have to agree with Bart: that's a good idea, moreover it's nicely made.

Shawn67, Neat interpretations. I have some of the same cameras. Stereo Realist, Olympus XA, Minox B, Similar Sigma DP1Merrill, and of course this months entry with the Pentax Q.

Shawn67, how do you slit film for the Minox? Would love to shoot it again.
thanks

Thanks, thought I would try for an alternative interpretation.

Nice cameras! I'd love to see someone put out a digital XA or XA4 with the clamshell cover.

As far as film slitting goes you basically cut down larger film to the correct size and reload your Minox canisters. A roll of 35mm will give you two lengths of 9mm(ish) film that you can then cut in half (lengthwise) to refill 4 Minox film canisters.

A few links to check out:

There have also been commercial slitters available as well as some sophisticated home built units:

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the Minox info. Will have to check into it.

When Maitani designed the XA, they didn't know how to mold the clam shell. It took a lot of experimentation to get correct. Saw a story about it once in a manufacturing magazine. Who would think something so right and simple, would be so complex to make?

thanks
