Slow shutter release?

I have a new WG-3. Compared to cameras I have used previously, the shutter release seems slow (sort of Press down all the way..........click). Then I have to wait for the image to be stored before I can shoot again. I know some time is required to store the image, but is there a way to speed up the taking of shots?
Thanks for any help.

To speed up the time in between shots, you need a faster memory card. The faster the write speed, the less time in between shots.
Im not sure about the delay in shutter because I don't own the wg3. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you with that.
Also, welcome to the forums!

Does that camera have SR or flash enabled? Sometimes things like that require "charging" and make the shutter slower? Maybe its the AF?
You can search the youtube and find a video of someone taking photos with that camera, so you can see if yours is on par.

Oh, and welcome

Welcome to the forum. The AF in point and shoot cameras is slower than that in SLR cameras because of physics. You could try setting MF to the distance and avoid it.

Help. I may have screwed up.

Well I know I screwed up. I have a Pentax KR and was going through the menu to see how I could get rid of a speck that comes out in my pictures. It isn't in the lens. I tried the dust removal process but that didn't work. So I pressed the "Sensor Cleaning" and selected Mirror Up. Then I had a little squeeze bulb that forces out air and squeezed the bulb a couple of times. When I did that and turned it off, my shutter speed now takes about three or more seconds to close. What did I do wrong? It doesn't matter what lens I'm using, it still is very slow and makes the camera unusable.
