Optio S60 BATTERY DEPLETION & Shut Down Problem

My Optio S60 keeps giving me a Battery Depletion message and shutsdown even though the batteries are new and full of charge.

I have used different types of batteries and still the same problem.

Can anyone help?

Hi fxg,

I guess you've posted this in the wrong forum discussion group.
There is a "Pentax P&S Camera Discussion" group.

Try posting this question there.

How old is the camera and how old are the batteries? Is the environment you're working in cold or hot?

The batteries are all new (have used several sets).

The temperature (environment) is room temperature.

The camera starts up okay with full bat indicator then quickly shows empty the shuts down after the depletion notice. Like I said, the batteries are new everytime, so it definitely is a camera issue.

Any help in this regard will be welcome.

Cheers

Well if you say it is new, I suppose the wisest thing would be to take it to an authorised Pentax service centre. It is very likely that the issue is electronic, and if so, I doubt there is anything anyone of us can do.
