Night-Spring to It!! - Point & Shoot Competition #77

Alright then! I suppose I'll get this going, as we've waited long enough and the month is ticking by us.

I'm not certain I've seen a theme along these lines and thought it'd be something good, different and timely. This month's P&S Competition's theme will be:

Night Spring - Macro Spring! - Post your best image portraying the season of Spring shot during non-daylight hours, or spring themed macros!

Winner will be judged by the users (one vote each) towards the end of the month.

Last entries in on the Sunday, April 27th, Midnight PST. Judging to start on the 29th when all entries are compiled.

My apologies in advance for any Southern Hemisphere folks... you'll have to reach into your bag of tricks to make this happen!

RULES (as per usual):

1. Have lots of fun!
2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1".
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras.
No 35mm (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted (cameras listed as acceptable here supersede rules above):

Mobile phones, old and new, iPods, tablets, toy cameras.
Fixed-lens 35mm and smaller-format film and digital rangefinder and viewfinder cameras.
Interchangeable or fixed-lens 110film SLRs and Pentax Q.
TLRs, 6x9, 6x7, 6x6, Medium Format "folding", "box", or "Holga-style" scale focus cameras ( subject to 1kg weight limitation).
Any camera brand allowed.

3. Entries will close on Sunday, April 27th, 2014 Midnight (PST).
4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.
5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.
6. Post-processing to a minimum, contrast, colour conversion, general fixes ok.
7. The photos in this contest must have been shot within April 2014.
8. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.
9. Enter 1 image only, however you may change your one entry as many times as you like up to the contest closing date/time.
10. Feel free to post a shot which shows off your setup.

Now go, and bring forth fantastic images!

I'll start it off with the image I snapped a few weeks back that largely inspired this month's theme in my mind, but...
PLEASE NOTE, this shot is NOT in contention for this contest as it was taken with a K-3 DSLR. This is just to pretty-up the thread for starters and get the mood rolling!

7. The photos in this contest must have been shot within March.
...
This might prove a little difficult

The new time limit is in any case prohibitive for me to be able to participate even when it is meant to be the current month.

OK - it's been so quiet in here I thought maybe the theme was too restrictive so I've opened it up a bunch. Enter you best shot showing spring at night OR spring themed macro shots!

Hopefully within a couple of weeks it will look something like spring here--day and night! Not much yet, but hints increasing daily!

Told you the return from India was too soon. Here the camera club has rescheduled the azalea ranch field trip twice. Things are just starting to bud out. I am working on an entry.
thanks

You were right. I should have returned to the Goa beaches until the end of April. I was out yesterday and noticed the buds and 'baby' leaves are just beginning to appear. If it stops raining today I may get in some macros with the samsung. Not an entry, but this is what it looked like on the night of April 14th

@chickentender I suspect you get rain often, but not much of this at this time of year.

Snow is gone, rain has stopped so its time for the first ride of "spring". Here's my first macro entry. If I get out for a nite ride I'll post my second entry afterwards. Guess I need to clean off that Florida (from the last trip) sand first.

Taken with the Samsung TL350

Shaking up the competition Chicago Style!

Something fell through and I had a small opening.
And yes, I thought about this P&S contest

It was a small opening though, so nothing spectacular.

Forgot to mention: Panasonic FX500

Hardly
But since there's no choosing from one option...

If you think your bike needs cleaning, be glad you haven't seen mine

By the way, I saw in the rules we "only" get to enter 1 image.
