My first attempt at one of these contests, be gentle.

I used Snapseed, a pretty good editor for smartphones with a very simple user interface. Used a variety of tools to highlight, adjust tone and contrast, blur and few other things. I wanted to make the image appear more stormy, but bring out the building. Hopefully showing that while old and in disrepair, it can still be used as a refuge from the storm. A metaphor for life? Maybe, I'll leave that up to the observer.

yes, almost all cooking was done in gimp + g'mic (crop, clone, scale, denoise, color, contrast,sharpen)... There was a bit in the very beginning I did with Color Efex too (via Xnview) which was graduated ND filter for the sky and warmth...

First attempt, done with Corel Aftershot Pro.

First, a slight leveling of the horizon.
Then, a crop to get rid of the unnecessary areas.
Only then I did a general level and contrast adjustment.
Then a Fuji Velvia film emulation, as I think this scene deserves that!
Then, I thought the sky was too gloomy, so I got rid of the gloom and gave it a more cheery sky
Finally, dodging and burning throughout the picture.

Next, I'll try to do a B&W.

The story short: I desaturated this photo in Photoshop, then applied motion blur filter, played with levels. Created copy layer and with transformation command(edit) I made it look like a mirror upside down image and moved it to the bottom of the photo so that it looks like a reflection in a water.

I made this edit in Adobe Photoshop Touch on my iPad 2 ... I duplicated the original layer twice, used a different blend mode on each of the two copied layers, warped the smoke stack straight, used a black gradient with a blend mode to darken the asphalt ... This is a very fine app. From Adobe for playing around with social media shares and works quite well for something costing only $10.00 ... Thanks ... 8)

Entry 1

I used Light Room 5 to start with and then I used various filters in Perfect Effects 8.

Used a combination of Lightroom basic adjustments, Adjustment Brush, Gradient Filter and Nik Software Silver Efex Pro 2. Adjustment Brush for clarity and sharpness of clouds as well as Gradient Filter.

Lightroom 5 and Topaz BW

So, cropped it with Lightroom 5, made it flat by completely lowering the contrast, adjusted some shadows and highlights; sent it to Topaz BW stuffy and started playing with grain and contrast, returned it to Lightroom 5 and made it a bit cold and green, because most of my pictures are that way and I like them.
