Pentax Compact Camera Post Processing Contest #25

Well I have no idea what you're going to be able do with this one, but I'm glad it's not my problem! Hahaha...

Injured my back (again, lifting weights) and it was hurting too much to lug my dslr down to the beach this weekend, so my phone took over the capturing duties...

The Rules
1. Have Fun!
2. Use any Post Processing Software and techniques.
3. Entries will close on July 31st, 2014 at midnight Eastern Standard Time (a.k.a. New York time).
4. Maximum image dimensions for entries are 1024x768 pixels
5. Max of 3 image entries per person. Entries may be withdrawn or changed
6. List software used, as well as your method, with your entry so we can all learn.
7. There are no limits or restrictions - make the subject image into whatever you want!
8. Do not copy or alter other entries.
9. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date, and judge’s the next competition.
10. Have Fun

The file is .jpg only and is available here.

Too bad there were some pretty big crabs visible in that tide pool at first but they went under cover before I had a chance to take a shot then never came back out... Maybe you can add them back?

Have fun!

Here's the link to the last challenge...

Decided to crop out the tide pool even though I liked it. Wanted to bring more attention to the fisherman. Also added fishing line, as it was not visible before.

I started with straightening the horizon and tweaking the lighting in LR.
For the 1st one, I used Analog Efex and Colour Efex. A combined effort

2nd one, I used FilmPack on the LR version plus some split toning.

Last one, I picked a square crop in LR and used FilmPack again, with a colour film emulation and then I added texture, lightleak, vignette and a frame.
Aiming for an aged photo look.

yep. It's probably my fault for not offering a more compelling image to work with. I've always thought a month is too long a duration for these compact challenges...

You still have two more goes at this, Den

Nothing wrong with your image, todd.
This is a quiet month. At least it's summer holiday period over here.

Fine work, Den!
I like the painting effect and the vintage approach.

What software are you using, by the way?

Sagelight, Smart Photo Editor Studio (that's where I changed the sky originally) and Topaz B&W Plugin (hosted in Sagelight)

New names for me - except for Topaz.
Always interesting to learn what is out there and to see what can be done with it.
Thanks.
