MX-1 for Wildlife?

Of course we all know that the MX-1 is not a wildlife camera, right? Well how about if you have curious wildlife? The shot below was taken last weekend at Jasper National Park in Canada at the top of a mountain after a long hike. The curious chipmunk had obviously been fed by other tourists so he was an easier subject. I set the MX-1 to macro mode and was able to get 1 good capture. They move so fast it is very difficult to capture them and while the AF of the MX-1 is good, using macro the DOF is so narrow that getting a keeper is a challenge.

Great photo! You did well in the challenging conditions. And the MX-1, too

I don't buy that.

Its a camera, its got a lens, its got wildlife in front of it, and more importantly, its got a photographer who knows what he's doing behind it.

The key is a curious animal. I wouldn't have liked to be that close to a bear. Yes we saw bears on the trip but not on this hike.
