How do i make the video better on the mx-1?

The video looks kind of jittery and it looks like stuff goes out of focus.

Ouch! I can see why you would ask for help to improve video

I don't have the mx1 but the issue here seems to be one of not following certain basic principles when shooting video-not zooming during a shot, not trying to hunt back and forth etc.

I read this book before I completed my First Video recently, it has over 200 highly rated reviews on amazon. Read it. Its worth it!
How to Shoot Video That Doesn't Suck: Advice to Make Any Amateur Look Like a Pro: Steve Stockman: 9780761163237: Amazon.com: Books

[P.S: Below is the link to my first video that I made after I was done with that book. It helps to use some basic software to cut and splice the video together. Its still amateur video but I followed a lot of the principles in that book]..

Best methods I have found
[1] Don't zoom while shooting. Zoom then shoot.
[2] Disable Movie SR (even if hand held!!)
[3] Disable AF during video.
[4] Try not to pan quickly, always better to let the scene provide the movement - not the camera
[5] In the picture style, remove sharpness completely (full minus - )
[6] Removed contrast completely (full minus - )
[7] Reduce saturation

Buy a monopod

Here's a couple of my [very amateur] MX-1 clips (watch at 1080p):
Hand held, very slow pan:
1cm Macro test.
Hand held - slow movement

Pentax Movie SR is cr*p and ruins footage, because is tries to stabilize movement in the 'image stream' instead of stabilizing movement of the camera mechanically (using accelerometers)

Yes much better. And one other thing I forgot. Don't use Auto WB otherwise it changes during the video. Use a preset or custom WB.
