X90 forgets the date

My wife's X90 loses the date each time the battery is removed for charging. Obviously there is a CMOS-type battery inside that needs replacing. There is no mention of such a battery in the manual so I guess it is not something that is considered as user replaceable. Has anyone ever gotten inside an X90 to locate and replace that battery? Or is it time to consider a replacement camera as this is really starting to annoy my wife.

Same thing has always happened with my K-01 since new. Most annoying.

Ah, so we are not alone. Yes, this has been happening since new, as well. Is that WAD (Working As Designed)? If so, that is not a brilliant design feature.

No, it would have to be a fault. Power isn't getting to the RTC for whatever reason.
Doesn't happen with my other Pentax cams

Mine either. Thanks for that info. A bit late for warranty now, unfortunately.
