Cool! Looks like the underwater Optio is really gettig a face lift. Like the 5x zoom. May knock the Z10 out of the running for me. Wish it had manual over ride. The soft flash will be great for closeups.
thanks

thats almost as sexy as the Z10. maybe this will help bandage the current bad reputation of pentax P&S cameras.

Just read the specs, the only thing I don't like is the sensor, same size as the W30's with 50% more pixels; I wouldn't mind a hier msrp for it to get the s12 sensor, but oh well. From the spec, it can make b/w video, cool

Whoa. The Pentax page says M is in exposure modes! One of the things I really wanted in an Optio. before this only the A40 had manual. This camera is pulling ahead of the Z10 for my use. Can't wait to see one.
thanks

I just hope I can get one before summer camp with my troop in mid july!!!

I don't know how good it will be, but up to now (on paper) it looks like a real winner. And even it image quality isn't perfect, it still looks like a decent "all terrain" "all weather" camera.

I'm with you in the hope dept. I'm going to Hawaii second week of July to learn to scuba dive. I've been reasonably happy with my W10 when I went snorkelling a couple of years ago.

The big question will be speed of operation, I use a Panasonic compact and the AF, read/write and general responsiveness is just amazing.

been waiting forever for an affordable water proof camera with a wide angle.

A friend of mine has the Optio W10, and while this camera gets it quiet right in the image department (being a compact digital cam that is ), it is p-a-i-n-f-u-l-l-y s-l-o-w...
I don't know how the W20 and W30 are in the speed department, but the W10 takes forever to focus and once the focus locked still hesitates making the photo as if it were saying: 'are you really sure you want to make the picture?'

I for one am very interested in the W60, but if it's as slow as the W10 (or even half as slow), then there is no way I will be buying it...
