Took a snowshoe hike today on a local golf course and meandered over to where the carts are stored for the winter. It was 12* when I took this shot and the golf season seems like a very long time away. I always carry my MX-1 when I want to travel light. PP with ACR and Topaz Adjust.

A spot of color on a cold snowy day back in 2013. Taken with the Panasonic FZ150, fitted with an Olympus 1.7 X teleconverter , I was trying out my birding skills focused on the neighbors feeder.
This is a combo I've not used much since, being that the digital zoom, gives about the same results in low light, without the extra bulk and weight.

Oooo, like this one, too, Edith! Extra points if those birds are alive, not stuffed, kidding.

Let me start by saying I liked all of the entries. Right on theme and I would be happy to have any of these in my "portfolio".

Difficult to pick winners but here goes, based on my totally subjective experience of the images.

3rd place is for Sagitta for his classic winter landscape. An effective and minimalistic composition.

2nd place is an ex aequo between chubasco and chemtech for a more artistic entry on the theme. One in b&w and one using the colours provided by the winter sun as well.

Finally, the winner is T_MB with his night shot in colour. The deserted scene gave an extra to the feel of cold. The footsteps in snow and the solitary pedestrian made for a bonus.

Again, great entries by everyone and thanks all that participated!

You're up, T_MB!
Looking forward to your Point and Shoot Competition #87
