Point and Shoot Competition #86 - Cold

Being January, makes me think of Winter and the inevitable cold.
So, that looked like a good theme to me.

Please feel free to interpreted this as broadly as you wish.
Weather, Food, Snow, Ice(creme ), Behavior, Feelings, coldness... whatever this theme evokes.

Again, no time restriction on when the entries were taken. After all, it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere now.

Panasonic FX500

RULES (as per usual):

1. Have lots of fun!
2. Cameras:

No cameras with sensors larger than 1".
No large format or camera typically requiring a tripod to use.
No interchangeable lens cameras.
No 35mm (D)SLRs or any camera weighing over 1kg.

Cameras permitted (cameras listed as acceptable here supersede rules above):

Mobile phones, old and new, iPods, tablets, toy cameras.
Fixed-lens 35mm and smaller-format film and digital rangefinder and viewfinder style cameras.
Interchangeable or fixed-lens 110film SLRs and Pentax Q.
TLRs, 6x9, 6x7, 6x6, Medium Format "folding", "box", or "Holga-style" scale focus cameras ( subject to 1kg weight limitation).

ANY CAMERA BRAND ALLOWED.

3. Entries will close on Saterday January 31st, 2015 at Midnight (gmt).
4. Maximum image dimensions are 1024x768 (ish) pixels.
5. List camera brand and model with entry for all to see, and exposure data would be nice.

6. No restrictions on when the entries were taken.
7. Contest winner determines the rules, selects theme, sets closing date and judges the next competition.

8. Enter up to three images, however you may change your entries as many times as you like up to the contest closing date/time.

9. Feel free to post a shot ( not judged) which shows off your setup.

I'm looking forward to all your entries! Don't hesitate to give me a hard time judging
And do have fun!

Bart

Nice set, Bart, good thing you're not participating this time. I should be able to come up with something...

Actually, this will be my first, with Ricoh GRD2:

Thanks Bill!

And a great opening entry!
Right on theme and a b&w as an extra bonus

Great image and interpretations, Nelson!

Am I correct however in seeing this is taken with a K5?
This is meant for P&S camera's. I don't think the K5 falls in that category even in the somewhat broad definition See Rule #2

OOps...that's what happens when you don't read thoroughly. I will delete them.

Well, too bad.
Thanks for understanding.
An opportunity perhaps to pull out a P&S?
Even phones are accepted

Here's my other two, chances of catching snow or frost here in the South will be iffy at best:

These are from the same set as the first, with Ricoh GRD2. This snow lasted less than a day and was completely gone. If I can shoot something
else, will replace.

Great light and shadows, Bill and fine selective focussing!

Snow gone in a day - preferably a weekend day - is my kind of snow

It would seem to fit nicely into the criteria, camerasup.
So, jump right in

What a great idea for a theme, Bart!
Chubasco , loved your entries, especially the last one. Brrrr!

My first entry: The Snow Cat seen from my porch after a light snow. Pentax Q7 and 06 lens.
I've some more ideas in the works, but, this will do for now.

Already a fine entry, Edith! I like the black cat and the light/shadow.

These definitely say "Cold", T_MB!
Great night images as well.

By the way, these are with the MX-1, I think?

Don't forget to include the camera brand and type.

No time restrictions?

Well then...

Kodak EasyShare CX7310. Haven't had that camera for years after someone swiped it on me.
