Point and Shoot Competition # 87_Snowed In

Apologies if I am violating in protocol or if this is a dumb idea, as I have never won one of these before, so have no clue as to the rules for setting up the next one.

Continuing the winter theme, lets see some photos of snowpocalypse. The theme is "snowed in." Any P&S camera. No time limit for dates of photos. Cars, homes, people, other objects that are "snowed in." To make my life easier, limit 2 submissions per person. Competition open for 2 weeks.

Edit: Contest ends on February 18 at 5:00 central standard time.

Snowvember storm ...

This past November 2014, our Buffalo, NY area was hit with a horrific lake effect snow storm. Some local communities had 72" of snow. I was lucky to get away with only 42" where I live. We get our fair share of snow around here and are used to it. Back in 1977, we had the blizzard of all blizzards and the city was closed for a week. The mayor of Buffalo at that time, Jimmy Griffin, gave us great advice that I still follow today during a snow event. "Stay inside with a six pack of beer" - best mayor we ever had !

These pics were taken the morning (7:30AM) of, and after the storm with my Pentax MX-1. Gotta go shovel .... It's starting to snow again

Same here. A couple of cm's of snow is already considered a national disaster

Looking forward to see what the real winter looks like.

Already a beautiful b&w by zman.
And a creative "solution by pntx

pntx: I love the guy skiing on... concrete? a road? Whatever, its funny!

zman: love the first... the second scares me, would not want to be coming out that door when the snow falls right off the roof.

Zman, your second pic sure brings back memories. I remember, my Uncle had a spring loaded outer door that could be released to start digging a tunnel out. (Idaho Mountains)
I see you guys have another snow storm predicted for this coming weekend, on top of what you've already accumulated.

pntx, awesome roller skiing capture. I haven't the guts to try this, but, sure looks like fun.

We get some snow where I live in Kansas, but, nothing of the snowbound variety for many years, (knock on wood). We get more of the blowing, freezing ice storms around here.
This is a pretty typical look when it snows here, and was taken a couple of years ago with the Pentax Q and 01 lens out my front door.

Thanks, Bart!
It's a rather mundane shot, but, thought I would share for those that live in warmer climates.
Talking about warmer, it's like Spring here today and supposed to get up to 70 deg. F this weekend.

Not mundane for those of us in hotter climes I love a bit of BRRR in the midst of the Aussie summer.
